Family Advocate Coordinator (Head Start)

Blue Valley Community Action is seeking a Family Advocate Coordinator to support family engagement services within our Head Start program. This role works closely with Site Leaders and the Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) team to coach Family Advocates, monitor Family Partnership Plans, and support positive outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide training, coaching, and support to Family Advocates
• Monitor Family Partnership Plans and family services activities
• Conduct site visits and observations to support staff development
• Review and analyze family services data for program improvement
• Partner with Site Leaders to ensure accurate documentation and compliance
• Build positive relationships with families, staff, and community partners

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must have or be willing to obtain within 18 months of hire: NE Home Visitor credential or a higher education degree in social services, family services, early childhood, or related field
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
• Must pass required background checks

Preferred:

• Experience with family engagement, social services, or Head Start programs preferred
• Strong communication, coaching, and teamwork skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ChildPlus or similar databases a plus

Work Environment

• Office and program site visits, including participant homes
• Frequent local travel required
